We are all following something. Whether we know what it is, are stuck enamored by it, or deliberately pursuing something. Unfortunately, most of the things we follow will lead to disappointment in one way or another; and while it is usually easy to see the path others are taking, the one we are on ourselves may be headed the same way. Everyday though is a choice that we can make in a deliberate pursuit of the something we really desire even though we may not know it yet.
Follow Jesus.
Not your podcast, media personality, mother, father, church, pastor, or anything else. Imitators of Godly leaders, honor and obey elders, submit to Godly teaching, and many more of these spiritual commands and principles we need to say yes, but follow Jesus.
The best part of all, Jesus meets us where we are, redeems us as we are, and leads to who we are.

How do I follow Jesus?
Step 1. Accept him as your personal Lord and Savior by coming face to face with your sin (wrong doings/disobedience, and overall selfishness) and admit you can’t clean yourself up and that Jesus died on a cross and rose to conquer sin and the consequence of death in order that you might live. That part makes no sense, but it is because he loves you more than you can know. That is a simple prayer.
Step 2. Read, pray, be in a community of believers, take action on what you learn and understand. Reach out to others being devasted by the effects of sin. Put being like Jesus as the forefront of your day.
Step 3. Repent when you mess up and keep following.
P.S. The spirit of God will be reaching out and with you in every step of the way, don’t worry.
